Pay your respects to the ‘water of life’ at Whisky & Alement!
Is it Whisky or Whiskey? There’s always been a bit of debate about this but that’s exactly why you should head down to WhisKY & Alement to find out. If you’re a connoisseur and already know the history of this, it doesn’t matter. Whisky & Alement’s bar is stacked with over 1000 different whiskies, from the classics through to independent bottlings and some of the rarest you’ll find across the globe.
As a magnificent and cosy bar in the heart of Melbourne, we think it’s always worth venturing down to sample the collection. However what really sets it apart is their educational classes so you can become the Whisky equivalent of a ‘wine snob’.
James and I rocked up to one of their regular classes as two Whisky lovers but without the knowledge to back it up if it meant answering a critical question from Eddie McGuire in the hot seat.
However, we left with a much more insightful understanding of the history of Whisky, and how to actually properly drink, taste and savour that liquid gold.
Whisky & Alement’s bartenders know their stuff. They are there to take you on a journey and what makes it even better is that going once isn’t enough. You’ll be coming back for more as they have experiences that hit every part of the map whether it’s focusing on Australian, Japanese, Irish or American whiskies.
