Urbnsurf is hands down on of the coolest concepts we’ve come across. What we really love is that it’s for everyone; beginners through to the hardcore surfer.

Surfing is an iconic Australian sport, but a lifestyle for many too. The only problem in Melbourne is the water is bloody freezing, waves can be hit and miss, and it’s not easy to practice when you want depending on where you live. Depending on where you go to practice, you’ll battle a crowd and maybe even get a fin to the back of the head.

Enter the geniuses at Urbnsurf, literally. They’ve built a surf park to dish up perfect, ocean-like waves in a safe a controlled environment.

Sure, for the die hard adrenaline junkie hitting the real surf probably cuts your mustard a bit more, but this is incredibly fun, a god send for those just wanting to practice with the convenience. Waves range from 0.5m all the way up to the barreling expert who’s taking on the thick 2m waves.

Crowds are limited so you’re not rubbing shoulders with the surfer next to you and our favourite part, they’re open day and night! Up to 10pm during the summer – totally awesome.

The Urbnsurf team have thought of everything and onsite there is Changerooms, parking, storage lockers and gear hire if you don’t own a board, yet (you’ll be hooked after trying it). For those that haven’t tried surfing, we suggest getting some lessons by the team there and you’ll be on your feet in no time – they’re awesome.

And, guess what at the end of your surfing session they’ve got Three Blue Ducks dishing up unreal food that can be washed down with a few of the ice cold best (beers) or wine.
