The Beer Run. 5km’s, 5 Breweries!

You won’t be running out of beer…

They say you should learn to walk before you run. Well we think we’ve all learnt the art of a good old pub crawl and waltzing from establishment to establishment with a bunch of mates. So if we listen these wise words, it’s only right that we now start running from pub to pub.

Welcome to The Beer Run. 5 km’s, 5 breweries, 5 beers (and plenty more after you’ve crossed the finish line).

The run takes place in different cities across the country and you can sign up for details on the next run in Melbourne here. And it’s a goody as it’ll be the Christmas in July edition on July 25th, kicking off from Bodriggy Brewery in Abbotsford. You’ll then sweat it out to Stomping Ground Brewery, Moon Dog, Mountain Goat before finally winding up at Burnley Brewing for a fun filled after party.

We’ve all tried to smash out a run the day after a big bender through pure guilt, but this one takes it to the next level with trying to work off those calories that you’re taking in on the fly. We just hope what goes in doesn’t come out too quickly…

Outrageous costumes are encouraged (chafing warning however). And like all ‘fun’ runs, alongside the $55 entry which includes five brews, you’ll receive Beer Run bib/number plus a novelty beer bottle opener medal and some other goodies.

The run should take around 2-3 hours depending on how long you stop at each brewery, so we doubt you’ll be breaking any PB’s. But if you do, it’s probably because of the numbing qualities of those Michael Schoomachers at each pit stop.
