You can be the Cathedral Explorer at 1695m!

Mount Buffalo’s Cathedral Hump awaits you. 

This isn’t a rock climbing tour, or an abseiling tour, though it includes both at an achievable level. It also isn’t a church tour sorry to say. But think of it more like a rocky road ice cream with a bit of everything!

The Bright Adventure Company will take you to Mount Buffalo’s Cathedral Hump, with the summit at an impressive 1695m offering incredible views.

Over a few hours you’ll walk, squeeze through slots, clamber under, over and around boulders, climb some rope ladders and finally scramble right to the highest point on the Cathedral, high above the Mount Buffalo plateau. Not many people get to take in views like this but what goes up must come down and so you’ll have an easy abseil right back to the ground.

Overall you’ll need a moderate level of fitness, however no previous climbing or abseiling experience is necessary.

Whilst amazing in summer, you can also choose to brace the winter temperatures and complete this amongst the snow and ice in winter. Even better…imagine scaling it on ‘hump day’.

But whilst no experience is necessary, we are warning you that you’ll be up high on the cliffs so if your knees get shaky just remember to ‘pray’ atop the Cathedral summit because the big fella must be close by.
