Grab your friends for this experience because the more the merrier (up to 8 that is). Goboat is an awesome concept that started in Copenhagen in 2014, allowing you to be the captain of your own little picnic boat as we like to call it.

They’re definitely not speed boats, but you’ll be more worried about taking in the beautiful city skyline and surrounding parks as you cruise down the yarra river in style.

It’s BYO food and drink, so bring your favourite bottle of bubbly or beers on ice, as well as that fancy charcuterie board you like to make, in summary bring whatever floats your boat.

We love the idea that you can bring your fur baby (dog) for the ride too, aslong as they don’t send one of your friends overboard, lol.

Hands down this is one of the best ways to experience Melbourne by water and you can hire the boats for up to 6 hours if you so please.

It’s also a great date idea for those lost on ideas to impress, although that’s assuming you trust the other person captaining the boat… first date..ahem.

So grab your captains hat, rally your friends and spend a sunny afternoon cruising the Yarra river in style (your own style).
