These ballet classes will keep you on your toes!

So head down to your local Barre!

Slip on your ballet shoes at the home of The Australian Ballet on Southbank with the next round of adult classes pirouetting off from May 17.

We obviously feel this will be of interest to our lady doers. But the lads should not pass this off, especially if they are looking to shred for summer. Just have a look at male ballet dancers physiques.

Everyone is welcome at the classes, whether you consider yourself a spud or feel at home at the barre (ballet barre that is).

The six-week series of adult ballet classes are all taught to live piano and are run by current and former dancers of The Australian Ballet so you’re in good hands (and feet…).

Each class lasts 75 minutes and for Beginners you’ll be getting familiar with the barre before progressing slowly into exercises in the centre of the room, helping you to improve your posture, coordination and strength.

If you can’t commit to the full six weeks (priced at $160), don’t fret as you can sign up for casual classes at $33 a pop. And if you sail through the Beginner classes you’ll be ready to dive into the Intermediate and Advanced stages.
