About this experience

Talk about once in a lifetime. Get set to embark on the Great Ocean Walk, a mammoth 110km escapade along Australia's rugged coastline that promises both blisters and bliss in equal measure. Starting at Apollo Bay and winding your way to the iconic Twelve Apostles, this eight-day adventure is not for the faint-hearted—but hey, who needs toenails anyway?

The Great Ocean Walk offers a range of options for walkers with varying skill levels. Tackle the whole eight days, or experience it in shorter snippets. Choose from a variety of short, day and overnight hikes. You can experience the walk independently, use a licensed tour operator (who will handle transport, camping equipment & food provisions), or mix and match.

Why Choose the Great Ocean Walk?

  • Nature's Rollercoaster: Traverse through Great Otway and Port Campbell National Parks, experiencing everything from dense eucalyptus forests to jaw-dropping cliff-top vistas.
  • Wildlife Encounters: Get up close and personal with koalas n' kangaroos.
  • Shipwrecks & Legends: Stumble upon the eerie remnants of shipwrecks at Wreck Beach. It's like "Pirates of the Caribbean," but with more sunscreen and fewer Johnny Depps.

Highlights Along the Way

  • Cape Otway Lighthouse: Meet guides eager to share tales of the "Shipwreck Coast." Spoiler: Boats didn't fare well here.
  • Johanna Beach: Perfect for those who enjoy the sensation of sand in every crevice.
  • Milanesia Beach: A secluded spot so serene, even your worries take a vacation.
  • Ryans Den: Offers panoramic views that make the uphill slog totally worth it.
  • Devils Kitchen: Despite the ominous name, it's a heavenly place to rest and ponder why you thought this hike was a good idea.
