We’ve All Been Good Boys & Gals This Year So Christmas Has Come Early!

Xmas Joy for days with Melbourne’s Christmas Fest!

We deserve all the presents we can get this year. Fill it up. After being the most locked down city in the world, it’s only right that Melbourne’s Christmas Festival has kicked off a few weeks early this year so we can all lap up those merry vibes.

And it’s expanding too. So expect more events to get stuck into with festivities right across the city from Fed Square to Birrarung Marr and the Queen Vic Market.

It’s all kicked off from Nov 12. Like, f*ck December 1. We’re ready to go right now.

It’ll be hard for us to list all of the things to do, but here’s a few tidbits!

The heart of it all is at Christmas Square, aka Fed Square. Look out for the 16m high Chrissy Tree and the big man himself will be there for a free photo at Santa’s Workshop daily.

Things will get lit each night as the city glows with magical projections across Melbourne Town Hall, St Paul’s Cathedral, Chapter House and Hamer Hall. Oh and don’t forget the twinkling lights in Hardware Lane and an epic light show over Bourke Street Mall!

Head on over to Docklands to suss out the Christmas Maze and then watch the Yarra play host to a 27m long sleigh at Birrarung Marr with Row ho ho!

If all this is making you want to kick your feet up then you can catch an Xmas flick at Argyle Square’s Christmas Cinema.

And of course we can’t forget the food and bevs at the String Bean Alley Christmas Night Market at Queen Vic Market.

To top it all off, leading right into Xmas itself will see the banks of the Yarra come alive with a Christmas Carnival packed with classic food, carnival games, dodgems and a ferris wheel.

And to be honest, there’s lots more. Just bring a smile, be happy AF we are out of this lockdown mess and send a bit of love everyone’s way.
