Paying it forward never gets old and it means the world to many!
The Big Umbrella Foundation = a Great bunch of legends giving back to those who need it. They’re simply committed to the principle that every person should live free from poverty and exploitation and we couldn’t agree more with that!
When you spend enough time around the people who volunteer at the Big Umbrella Foundation you realise how much good there is in the world and only if we could multiple it by a billion.
They have Melbourne’s only Street soup Station and they feed anyone who is hungry. In their own words; “We are not a soup kitchen, we are a soup station, meals served with love to anyone that’s hungry-Rather than just providing a meal, we share a meal with our friends on the street” (As we said, Legends).
So what’s involved in donating your time to support a ridiculously good cause? Well, you’ll need to do some short training but donating your time to not only prepare food but also share your time with people on the streets; This soup station is about more than just food.
‘A Real Meal’ is more than providing hot food to the marginalised communities of Melbourne, as they aim to create friendships, build trust and give the most important thing one can give…. time. “Time Caring” as they call it – is something that we all so easily take for granted in our busy day to day lives, filled with appointments and friends, but for our friends on the street, the time of day can be the most valuable thing to share with another and equally the one thing that is missed the most.
What can we say, here’s your chance to do something Souper Duper, something small that makes a big difference!
