Museum of the Moon: Probs the the closest you’ll ever get to our moon!

Unless you’re an astronaut (apologies if so)…

We were absolutely devastated here with the recent cancellation of Rising due to that crap bloke we know called Covid. Thankfully you can now catch a glimpse of what was one of the star attractions through Museum of the Moon at Bunjil Place.

From June 26 to July 4 you’ll be able to catch this insanely cool exhibit for FREE!

So what is it? Think a seven-metre diameter sculpture of the moon that shows the lunar surface through NASA like imagery. The scale is at 1:500,000, no biggy hey… so every centimetre equates to 5km of the actual Moon’s landscape.

The genius behind this creation is UK artist Luke Jerram. He’s taken Museum of the Moon all over the world and it’s popped it’s moon face (aka nose) up before here in Melbourne at Scienceworks a few years ago.

You can find it at Bunjil Place plaza in Narre Warren. Just look up!
